The Reverend Margaret McGhee

rector

The Rev. Margaret McGhee comes to St. Paul’s from Palm Beach, Florida, where she served as the Associate for Stewardship and Digital Ministry at the Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. Although she has lived in many different places, Kansas has been a recurring presence in her life. It’s the place her parents met, the home of family members and friends, and the site of one of her first jobs. She’s excited to return to Kansas, to get to know the people of St. Paul’s, and to learn her way around Manhattan and the Flint Hills.

Margaret was born in Nebraska, spent most of her childhood in New Orleans, studied Electrical Engineering at Rice University in Houston, and then attended law school at Georgetown. She worked as an attorney in Washington DC, and as a technology consultant to a law firm in New York City, and then attended Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, earning a Master of Divinity from Yale and an Anglican Diploma from Berkeley.

The Reverend Yvonne Amanor-Boadu

Deacon

Yvonne was assigned to serve as Deacon at St. Pauls in July 2021.  She graduated from Bishop Kemper School of Ministry in May 2020, and was ordained to the diaconate in June 2020.  She completed internships at Grace Cathedral in Topeka and St. Luke’s in Wamego. She has taught adult formation classes on topics of diversity and inclusion, and poverty. She is a facilitator for the Epsicopal Church’s Sacred Ground curriculum, a member of the Diocese of Kansas Racial Justice and Reconciliation Task Force, and serves as facilitator for the second year cohort of students at Bishop Kemper School for Ministry.
Yvonne is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist and has a private practice in Manhattan.

The Reverend R. Charles Pearce

deacon emeritus

Charles was assigned to Saint Paul’s from 2000-2020. In 2007, he was named by Bishop Wolfe as one of two archdeacons of the diocese and served in that role into the second year of Bishop Bascom’s episcopacy. He was a member of the Ecclesiastic Relations Committee of the Diocese of Kansas Council of Trustees, and on the faculty and Board of Directors of the Bishop Kemper School for Ministry. He retired from all active ministries in 2020, but maintains a worshipping relationship with St. Paul’s.
Charles is a professor emeritus of journalism and mass communications at Kansas State University since his retirement in 2012.

David Littrell

Senior Warden

Senior Wardens in the Episcopal Church are lay persons nominated by the rector and confirmed by the parish by vote at the annual meeting. The Senior Warden works with the priest and other clergy in administering the operations of the parish. David began his second term as senior warden in January 2022 and became St. Paul’s first verger in 2016. He recently served as the president of the Northwest Convocation and is a delegate to diocesan convention. He enjoys his roles as lector, chalice bearer, thurifer, and verger. While studying to become a verger he learned a tremendous amount about the history of St. Paul’s. He revised and published his father’s 1989 book about the church windows (photos by Charles Pearce), which is available on this website, and wrote a description of the historical photos in the hallway leading to the chapel. That notebook is on the table in the Common Room.
David retired as university distinguished professor from K-State in 2018 where he was the cello professor and orchestra director. His is finishing his third year as interim conductor and music director of the Salina Symphony.

Saint Paul's Vestry Members

Vestry members are lay people elected for three-year terms by the parish at the annual meeting. The vestry goes beyond oversight of the business of the parish as servant-leaders responsible for identifying and developing programs of education for all parishioners and opportunities for individual and corporate spiritual growth. They act as “eyes and ears” of the Body of Christ as manifested in the people of Saint Paul’s parish.
