Weddings and funerals at Saint Paul’s

Weddings

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a beautiful place to have your wedding!  We seat approximately 175 guests and offer weddings with or without communion.  We use the beautiful and historic wedding liturgy of the Anglican Communion (you might have seen it at the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton):  “Dearly beloved: We have come together in the presence of God to witness and bless the joining together…”

We are pleased to offer weddings for both same and different-gendered couples!

In the Episcopal Church, couples are required to attend 4-6 sessions of pre-marital counseling, thus we require 6 months to schedule a service.

For more information, a tour, or to see a copy of our wedding policies, please contact the church office.

Funerals

Funerals in the Episcopal Church follow an Easter liturgy.  They find all meaning in the resurrection of Christ.  Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we too, shall be raised.  The liturgy, therefore, is characterized by joy, in the certainty that “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is recognized throughout Manhattan for its beautiful funeral liturgies.  We are pleased to offer burial for members and non-members alike.  We are able to work with or without a funeral home to plan church-based, graveside, or columbarium services.

MothrYou might also consider giving your family the gift of a pre-planned funeral!  To set an appointment to plan your burial service, contact Mtr. Margaret McGhee at 785-776-9427.
